two weeks of gallivanting around europe with loved ones was pure bliss. my head is still swirling with all of the art, culture, history and cuisine i soaked up! let me introduce you to the newest addition to my favorite places in the world list (and one i'm anxious to explore again) - copenhagen, denmark.

meandering around neighborhoods is my favorite way to enjoy a new city.

ny carlsberg glyptotek | art museum built around carl jacobsen's art collection (founder of carlsberg breweries).

in tribute of one of denmark's greatest treasures, hans christian andersen.
strolling around stroget | shopping and street performances galore.

copenhagen summed up in one image: bicycles (danes love to bike!), brightly colored buildings, cobblestone streets and fab textiles/design .

famed danish paradis ice cream | dare i say, the best ice cream i've had anywhere in the world (and i just read they recently opened u.s. branches - that saves me a trip around the world). it was so delicious that we went back multiple times, in one day...in the rain. pictured here: elderflower (words cannot begin to describe the unique, floral and sweet flavor) and fresh strawberry (airy, light and creamy).

gorge.

twinkly lights at tivoli - unbelievably beautiful amusement park and gardens.

pantomime theater in tivoli.

what better way to see all of copenhagen (and ruin my manicure as i desperately clutched the few chains that held me) than ride the world's tallest carousel, a.k.a. the star flyer at tivoli. 80 meters tall (that's 262 feet!) structure + swinging freely in the sky = unrivaled view of this fabulous and picturesque city.
